Here we have some miscellaneous sets I have put together, using custom headstalls, buckles, or colors that I think complement each other. These are sets that have allowed me to use my creativity, to play around with different braiding styles and colors, as well as use up odd lengths of rope or the last headstall I may have in stock. Most items are in perfect condition- if there are any flaws, they will be noted. These items are WELL below cost- this is an opportunity to get a one of a kind piece at a phenomenal price! When you click on the dropdown, you will see a picture of the actual set- but I can only set one photo per, so be sure to scroll the gallery under the large photo- each photo will be marked with it’s corresponding order #.
Set #1: 4 strand, stiff, flat braid loping hackamore. American made, Herman oak leather headstall with a heavy, oiled feel. Conchos and buckles are Mortenson buckles by Clint Mortenson. They are maker marked, and are the Santa Fe collection. Buckles retail for $50 each, conchos are $16ea. The noseband is a 4 strand, flat braid in burgundy, hunter, tan and brown- these colors look fantastic together. The reins are hand braided from 650 paracord- they measure about an inch wide, and are flat in your hands, and round where they tie into the hackamore. They’re tied in as split reins, and will measure about 7’2:’ long each. These suckers were my one and only time hand braiding paracord reins- I bet I have 4+ hours in these suckers.
Set #2. Heavy harness headstall, cowboy style with no stitching. Stainless buckles. Rope sidepull in our black/ brown ch pattern, with a brown rope chin strap, and matching, spliced reins. Reins are 9″ long and are in a matching black/ brown ch color.
Set #3. 4 strand round braid loping hackamore. This is a pony/ arabian set. Headstall is small horse size (16″ browband) Reins are mecate style, 20′ long, black and tan blend. Super punchy, cowboy set up. This noseband is on the smaller side- See fit on “Rusty’, his muzzle is 24# , bit this would best fit a horse/ pony with an 18″ or so muzzle.
Set #4. Floral carved headstall with an indian noseband and a pair of 7.6′ black loop reins with leather waterloops.
Set #5. Natural hackamore. Average size, with 12′ loop reins in black/ white checkered pattern- when tied in, they’re about 10’5′ and fully adjustable.
Set #6. This noseband was made from a lariat- so it’s VERY stiff, and quite thin. Good piece of training equipment, also has a ring underneath so you can attach a lead rope if desired. Simple leather hanger, heavy stainless buckle on one side only. 22′ mecate reins.
Set #7. Loping hackamore- 4 strand, round braid noseband in burgundy, with a burgundy fiador knot and tan, flat braid split reins. Reins are nearly 8′ long, finished with leather poppers. The pictures don’t do this set justice- the burgundy and tan PERFECTLY complement the headstall, which has rawhide in the same great colors. Really, really pretty rig. Has been hanging on the wall for a while, this set is dusty.
Set #8: Natural hackamore in black, Average size, with a wrapped nose in pink and purple, and a 12′ loop rein (when tied it measures closer to 10”) Super, super cute set.
Set #9: Natural hackamore in purple, Small size, with a purple braided noseband and black/ pink/ purple 12′ loop rein. This halter has been hanging on the wall for a while and is a bit dusty.
Set #10: This is a loping hack style I carried for a while but do not any longer. The noseband is a prickly, grass ‘feel’ rope tied kindof like a bosal. Noseband is laced in burgundy, and the headstall is made from our stiff halter cord, in navy. 22′ mecate reins are made from our burgundy/ navy double braid rope. Really pretty set, reins I just made but the bosal is old and dusty.
Set #11: This is a super cute set, with our pink crystal headstall paired with an average size sidepull in black/ turquoise/ pink. It has a matching, hand tied pink chin strap, and matching 8′ rein in black/ turquoise/ pink, with black leather waterloops.
Set #12: This is a set I initially made for myself. I cannot even express how many hours went into braiding this- the reins alone took me a couple hours. Headstall has upgraded, Mortenson, Rio Trio buckles and conchos- the hardware ALONE on this bridle retails for $104. Noseband has a ‘grass’ feel- but it’s polyester so will never rot. It’s braided flat on the bottom and round on the top, out of 8 strands of rope. Reins are HAND braided from our double braid, polyester rope. They’re braided flat in your hands, and round in the center so they wrap beautifully around the noseband. Really, REALLY flashy setup. Dusty, from sitting so long- but has never been on a horse! Take a look at the gallery for more pictures- it’s gorgeous.
