Tying the Mecate

 

 

 

 

 

First, bring the rein through the loops of the slobber straps from the back side.

 

 

 

 

 

Create a 'loop' on the left side of the slobber strap by bringing the 'tail' of the rein behind the slobber strap

 

 

 

 

 

Bring that 'tail' back around and run it thru the loop that you have just formed-

 

 

 

 

 

Pull tight, and you're good to go! This is shown on the left side, where you would traditionally leave the lead rope section of your mecate- simply pull the rope through to the desired length, snug it down, and you're good to go. The trick is to alwas bring the rein from back to front-
